trust & custody
Do you hold my funds?
No. Every payment goes directly from the payer's wallet to yours on the underlying blockchain. CRYPT.PE never touches a private key, never has a platform wallet, and never has the ability to move your money. We render a page and a QR — that's it.
Will you ever ask for my private key or seed phrase?
Never. CRYPT.PE stores only your public wallet address. If anyone — including someone claiming to be us — asks you for a private key or 12/24-word seed phrase, that is a scam. Walk away.
Can payments be reversed?
Once a blockchain transaction confirms it is final — on-chain transfers do not use the card-network chargeback mechanism, so there are no 180-day disputes or account freezes. Refunds and consumer-law obligations may still apply to you as the merchant. The trade-off is that typos can't be reversed either, which is why we validate addresses before you save them.
Do I need to do KYC?
Nope. CRYPT.PE doesn't require KYC for receivers. The blockchain doesn't care who you are, and neither do we. If your wallet of choice requires KYC, that's a separate matter between you and your wallet provider.

What if I don't already have a wallet?
Most self-custody wallets and exchanges that support the selected asset and network can send the payment — MetaMask, Phantom, Trust, OKX or Rainbow on phones; Ledger or Trezor for hardware; or a deposit address from Binance, Coinbase and most exchanges. CRYPT.PE only needs your public address.
Should I 'Connect wallet' or 'Paste address'?
Connect wallet (Method A) is one tap via WalletConnect and auto-fills your address, so no typos. Paste address (Method B) is for hardware wallets and exchange addresses where you can't easily connect. Both methods store the exact same thing — a public address. We never see your keys either way.
Which coins are supported?
One EVM address (0x…) receives ETH plus every ERC-20 across Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Base, Optimism and BNB Chain. Add Bitcoin (BTC), Solana (SOL + every SPL token like USDC) and Tron (TRX + USDT-TRC20) and you cover effectively every coin a real-world payer holds.
What if a payer sends on the wrong chain?
Our QR codes use EIP-681 (EVM), BIP-21 (BTC) and Solana Pay — wallets that scan them pre-fill the right chain and token. If a payer manually types your address into the wrong chain, that's outside what we control, and recovering those funds depends on the wallet they used.
pricing & limits
How much does CRYPT.PE cost?
Free. CRYPT.PE takes 0% of payments. The only cost is the network gas fee that the payer pays when sending — not you. You only pay gas later if you decide to move funds out of your wallet, but that's true with or without CRYPT.PE.
Are there limits on amount or frequency?
No platform limits — every payment is a direct on-chain transfer between the payer's wallet and yours. The underlying blockchain enforces its own rules (gas, block size, mempool). CRYPT.PE is just the page and QR.
Will you ever introduce fees?
Per-transaction fees: never. We literally can't take a cut of an on-chain payment because the funds go buyer → you without touching us. The personal `crypt.pe/username` link is free forever. Optional merchant gateway features (API keys, webhooks, programmatic orders, analytics, CSV export, branded pages) live on a flat subscription starting at $9/month — see /pricing. Even on the paid plans you keep 100% of every payment.
Can I pay my subscription in crypto instead of with a card?
Yes — and that's the only way. We don't accept credit cards for subscriptions. Pick Pro/Business/Scale on /pricing, choose USDC/USDT/ETH/BTC on whichever network you prefer (Polygon, Base, Arbitrum, Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana, Tron), get a 10-minute locked-price quote, send the tx from your wallet, paste the tx hash. We verify on-chain via Alchemy (EVM), Blockstream (BTC), Solana RPC and TronGrid — and credit your tier in seconds. Stablecoins are quoted 1:1 USD; native ETH/BTC/SOL use the live price feed.

What about crypto price swings — do I carry the risk?
Only if you choose to. The stablecoin-first playbook: accept USDT or USDC as your primary coins — a $100 invoice locks to 100 USDT at creation, and because stablecoins target a $1 peg, the value you receive stays close to $100 (peg stability isn't guaranteed). Token amounts are locked at invoice time either way, so volatile coins like BTC or ETH are quoted precisely too — you just carry the price movement after receipt. Most merchants enable stablecoins first and add BTC/ETH for customers who prefer them.
How do I turn crypto into dollars or euros?
crypt.pe is deliberately non-custodial, so it never converts or holds funds — you receive crypto in your own wallet and choose your own off-ramp. In practice: keep stablecoins as working capital, and when you need fiat, sell on the exchange of your choice (Coinbase, Kraken, Binance, or a local licensed provider) and withdraw to your bank. Your dashboard records the USD value of every payment at settlement and exports CSV, so bookkeeping and taxes stay clean regardless of when you convert.

How do I add crypto payments to my website?
Three ways, ranked by effort: (1) paste your crypt.pe/yourname link or QR anywhere — zero code; (2) drop the one-line <script> JS button on any HTML site, or install the WooCommerce/Magento plugin; (3) call the Stripe-style REST API to create orders programmatically, with HMAC-signed webhooks and Node/Python SDKs. How fast do payments confirm?
It depends on the chain: USDT on Tron and SOL confirm in seconds; USDC on Base/Polygon in a few seconds to a minute; ETH mainnet in ~15 seconds to a few minutes; BTC in ~10–60 minutes depending on confirmation depth. The dashboard and webhooks fire as soon as the payment is detected, and large payments get an automatic confirmation-depth policy.
Do my customers need a crypt.pe account or app to pay?
No. Payers just scan a QR or tap a link and send from whatever wallet they already use — MetaMask, Trust, Phantom, Binance, anything. No signup, no app install, no account. They get a public on-chain receipt they can verify independently.
How do refunds work if payments are irreversible?
Refunds become a merchant decision instead of a processor decision. You publish your own refund policy, and when you choose to refund, you send the funds back from your wallet to the payer's address — the dashboard's refund flow records it against the original payment so both sides keep a clean, linked on-chain record.

Can I change my username later?
Yes — every account is the owner of its username, and you can rename it from the dashboard once we ship the rename flow. The previous username is freed up immediately and becomes available for anyone else to claim.
How do I delete my account / page?
Email hello@crypt.pe from the address you signed up with and we'll remove your account and free up the username within 48 hours. (Self-serve delete is on the roadmap.)
Will I see who paid me?
Yes — the dashboard's 'Recent payments' table is now live across every supported rail. EVM (Polygon, Base, Arbitrum, Ethereum) lands in real time via Alchemy webhooks; BTC, native SOL and USDT-Tron auto-detect via background pollers within ~90s of confirmation. Every row shows sender, coin, amount, USD value and timestamp. Pro users also get a chain-breakdown card showing which rails actually drive volume.
Does CRYPT.PE make a nice link preview when shared?
Yes — every page automatically generates an OG image with your username, avatar and supported coins, so Twitter, Telegram and iMessage unfurl the link with a clean preview instead of a hex string.
